Angel I. Mr. Rivera is known for his aggressive, strategic, and highly disciplined approach to litigation. He does not simply process cases or accept inadequate settlement offers. He identifies the pressure points in each dispute, develops a targeted litigation strategy, and pursues every available avenue to place his clients in the strongest possible position. His practice includes pre-suit investigations, pleadings, written discovery, expert development, depositions, dispositive motions, mediation, arbitration, settlement negotiations, and trial.

Mr. Rivera has substantial experience representing policyholders in residential and commercial property insurance disputes, including claims involving hurricanes, wind, water, roofing failures, structural damage, hail damage, and other significant property losses. His prior experience representing insurance carriers gives him valuable insight into how insurers investigate claims, evaluate exposure, retain experts, develop defenses, and attempt to limit their financial responsibility. He uses that knowledge to anticipate defense strategies and aggressively challenge unsupported coverage positions and claim denials.

In his personal injury practice, Mr. Rivera represents individuals who have suffered injuries because of the negligence and misconduct of others. He approaches each case with the understanding that the opposing insurance company begins preparing its defense immediately. He works to preserve critical evidence, establish liability, document the full extent of the client’s damages, and build a case that is prepared for trial from the outset.

Mr. Rivera also represents property owners, condominium associations, businesses, and other clients in construction defect disputes. These matters frequently involve defective workmanship, roofing failures, water intrusion, building-envelope deficiencies, code violations, engineering disputes, and disagreements concerning responsibility for repairs. Mr. Rivera works closely with contractors, engineers, and other experts to identify the cause of the failure, establish liability, and pursue the compensation necessary to repair the property.

A trial-tested advocate, Mr. Rivera has experience presenting cases before judges and juries. Mr. Rivera represents clients throughout Florida and Colorado. He has been a member of The Florida Bar since 2015 and is admitted to practice before the United States District Courts for the Southern, Middle, and Northern Districts of Florida, as well as the United States District Court for the District of Colorado.

Before concentrating his practice on civil litigation, Mr. Rivera operated his own law firm, where he assisted businesses with the enforcement and collection of final judgments. His experience included bank garnishments, levies against personal and real property, post-judgment discovery, asset investigations, and the domestication of judgments in other states. Mr. Rivera earned his Juris Doctor from Thomas M. Cooley Law School and his Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Florida Atlantic University. Fluent in Spanish, he communicates directly with Spanish-speaking clients and helps them understand every stage of the legal process.
