Markita Hawkins

Markita S. Hawkins is an attorney with more than 12 years of experience representing individuals, businesses, and property owners in complex litigation involving personal injury, property damage, and insurance disputes. Known for her strategic communication, she has successfully represented clients in both state and federal courts and is committed to helping clients navigate complex legal challenges with confidence.

Licensed in Louisiana and Texas, Markita is admitted to all state courts in those jurisdictions, as well as the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Louisiana and the United States District Court for the District of Colorado. Her dedication to the legal profession has earned recognition from organizations including Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch and The National Trial Lawyers Top 40 Under 40.

A proud New Orleans native and graduate of the historic McDonogh 35 Senior High School, Markita carries with her the values of resilience, service, and community that continue to shape both her life and legal career.

Outside the practice of law, you’ll usually find Markita listening to an audiobook, working in the yard, serving at church, or challenging someone to a game of Connect Four. She treasures her role as Godmother to five children whom she loves as her own and believes the most meaningful legacy is a life of service.

Committed to lifelong learning, Markita is currently pursuing a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Dispute Resolution at Pepperdine Caruso School of Law, further strengthening her skills in negotiation, mediation, and conflict resolution.
